Official Press Release
The people in the know told me I should offer a press release stating whatever I want relating the change from MoMo Estate Sales to Luby’s Great Estate, so here you go!
Officially as of May 31, 2026, MoModerne and MoMo Estate sales will cease to be. Whatever comes from the shop space is to be determined from my partner in this business for the past 18 years. I wish her well, and hope for the best from something we both started so long ago as just two people at a shared desk selling on ebay.
Now though, Luby’s Great Estate will continue the 18 year legacy of MoModerne and MoMo Estate Sales with the same crew you have all come to love and hug when you see us every weekend. We still will answer phone calls when they come in immediately, and go out on interviews and meet people as soon as anyone wants us over. We are always booking estate sales, buy-outs or offering other help like moving or clean-outs of properties. You will continue to find the best response and easiest crew in Luby’s Great Estate.
Luby Kelley, me, owner of Luby’s Great Estate, as well as co-owner and co-founder of MoModerne and MoMo Estate Sales has been in the business since I was 16 going to Estate Sales around St.Louis with his dad. Back then, I just bought toys and comics. And I wasn’t a dealer. I was just buying for myself. But one day, I sold something for a profit to a comic shop and it was off to the races. I did local toy shows and attended Belleville every single week. The regulars at the estate sales thought I was cute, as the only person under 40 years old who would be in line at the crack of dawn. But I stayed and kept buying and helping others until finally one of the estate sale runners asked me if I could do a sale for them, as they were not available. It was great! I had a blast! I enlisted friends to help. But really, it was me, sitting at 11pm in a dusty attic, in the dark, pulling out socks and ornaments and pure gold! Years later, I had 5 or 6 sales under my belt and I partnered with someone who would help me make estate sales into a full time business. 18 years later, I’m on my own again with the greatest crew and business I could imagine.
Okay, this veered a bit from an official press release. But I think you got it. MoModerne and MoMo Estate sales… kaput. So sad, but oh well. Luby’s Great Estate full on and in your face and ready for more. As I say at the estate sales when I catch you leaving, “See you every weekend for the rest of your life!”
